How can industrial companies make their service business fit for the future? WIKA is developing answers to this question together with other companies as part of the \u201cService Performance Center\u201d (SPC), a foundation of the RWTH Aachen University.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SPC sees itself as a cross-sector partner for the manufacturing industry. It offers a forum for exchange and joint projects as well as comprehensive counselling and training opportunities. WIKA has been a business partner of the SPC since 2024 in order to gain new impetus for its own Services division. This division is being increasingly expanded. It is an elementary part of the transformation from product to solution provider.<\/p>\n

Experience in the service business applied in two projects<\/h2>\n

WIKA is contributing its experience to two projects that are being implemented in so-called expert circles made up of specialists from companies and SPC. The \u201cGlobal Service Portfolio\u201d project \u2013 which was kicked off in WIKA\u2019s Innovation Center (picture) \u2013 addresses the question of how a global standard of services can be achieved and maintained. At the same time, however, it is also important to keep room to manoeuvre in order to address specific industries and customers. One example of this is WIKA-Gayesco\u2019s field service for temperature applications in reactors.<\/p>\n

The second project, \u201cOrganisational Transformation\u201d, examines the topic of service business from the perspective of industrial transformation and its challenges. Although it is primarily about digitalisation, demographic change also plays a role in this. The expertise of the retiring \u201cbaby boomers\u201d, for example, needs to be collected, processed and made available. For this purpose, WIKA developed an online platform as a \u201cknowledge centre\u201d.<\/p>\n
