For four days during the Easter holidays, they designed and built mini cars that can recognise obstacles on their own, follow lines and even open barriers with RFID chips. The goal: an \u201cUltrasonic Rescue Vehicle\u201d for simulated emergency operations.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/en\/files\/2025\/08\/textbild_schweiz_tueftel-camp.jpg\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cBob\u201d was one of the Ultrasonic Rescue Vehicles for simulated emergency operations that was built by the pupils during the \u201ct\u00fcftelCamp\u201d at WIKA Switzerland.<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p><span>The 11- to 14-year-old pupils learnt CAD design using Tinkercad, Arduino programming, sensing technology and the conscious use of AI. They were supported by trainers and apprentices from WIKA Schweiz AG and the t\u00fcftelPark team. The tinkerers even used ChatGPT for the development of program codes. They discussed and combined their ideas to find the best possible solution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The week was rounded off with a challenge in which the teams presented their vehicles in front of a large audience and competed against each other. They were judged not only per speed, but also per teamwork, organisation, functionality and design. Parents, siblings, representatives from economy and politics as well as WIKA employees followed the exciting race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The \u201ct\u00fcftelCamp\u201d at WIKA Switzerland offered more than just action. The young talents gained valuable insights into technical professions such as automation engineer, polymechanic, production mechanic, plastics technologist and design engineer. Practice makes perfect when it comes to shaping the future!
