{"id":8168,"date":"2017-11-03T10:43:43","date_gmt":"2017-11-03T09:43:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/en\/?p=8168"},"modified":"2021-10-13T08:05:03","modified_gmt":"2021-10-13T06:05:03","slug":"cigre-meeting-in-klingenberg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/en\/wika-insight\/cigre-meeting-in-klingenberg\/","title":{"rendered":"CIGRE Meeting in Klingenberg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The WIKA division IN-SF<sub>6<\/sub> enjoyed the honour of welcoming 47 members of the CIGRE organisation (\u2018Conseil International des Grands R\u00e9seaux Electriques\u2019) to Klingenberg between 23 and 26 October 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CIGRE \u2013 founded in 1921 &#8211; is an international, not-for-profit association to promote cooperation between experts from around the world. Through the exchange of knowledge and the joining of forces, it seeks to improve the electrical power systems of today and tomorrow. Worldwide, CIGRE brings together about 8000 technical and scientific professionals from more than 90 countries, as well as around 1100 corporate members from utility companies as well as from industry and the scientific community.<\/p>\n<p>For these four days at WIKA, the members of Group B3, \u2018Substations\u2019, AA2 \u2018Area Advisory for gas insulated switchgear, gas insulated lines, application of SF<sub>6<\/sub> and alternative gases\u2019 was in conference. The work of this group includes the planning, maintenance and operation of gas-insulated switchgear (\u2018GIS\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>During this six-monthly B3.AA2 meeting, the following five working groups met to drive their projects forward on a joint basis.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square\">\n<li>B3.39, the impact of NCIT (Non-Conventional Instrument Transformers) on GIS<\/li>\n<li>B3.41, mobile substations with GIS<\/li>\n<li>B3.45, the use of non-SF<sub>6<\/sub> gases<\/li>\n<li>B3.50, concepts for HV testing of GIS on location after installation, expansion, retrofit or repair<\/li>\n<li>SF<sub>6<\/sub> Green Book (pooling of knowledge on the subject of SF<sub>6<\/sub> gas)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As well as the official programme, participants were also able to learn about WIKA\u2019s laboratories for SF<sub>6<\/sub> analysis, calibration technology and material analysis. Participants also got to know the region a little with an evening visit to Miltenberg.
