O amplo uso deste sinal deve-se ao seu f\u00e1cil manuseio e especialmente sua resist\u00eancia contra interfer\u00eancias.<\/p>\n<p>O sinal de corrente possui maior imunidade contra interfer\u00eancia eletromagn\u00e9tica do que um sinal de tens\u00e3o devido ao fato de que interfer\u00eancias eletromagn\u00e9ticas s\u00e3o alimentadas em linhas como sinais de tens\u00e3o e resultam em poucas altera\u00e7\u00f5es de corrente, na resist\u00eancia de entrada do receptor. O sinal 4 &#8211; 20 mA \u00e9 utilizado em v\u00e1rias aplica\u00e7\u00f5es na transmiss\u00e3o de valores como temperatura e press\u00e3o. Por exemplo, a faixa de 0 &#8230; 10 bar de um transmissor de press\u00e3o em um processo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 convertida pelos circuitos eletr\u00f4nicos do instrumento em um sinal de corrente de 4 &#8211; 20 mA.<\/p>\n<p>Os sinais de 4 &#8211; 20 mA dois fios s\u00e3o preferidos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos com tr\u00eas fios devido a sua economia em fia\u00e7\u00e3o e f\u00e1cil detec\u00e7\u00e3o de erros.
