Chaves de fluxo calorim\u00e9tricas, que s\u00e3o frequentemente tamb\u00e9m referidas como monitores de fluxo t\u00e9rmico, utilizam das leis f\u00edsicas do transporte t\u00e9rmico em fluidos. A distin\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 feita basicamente entre duas solu\u00e7\u00f5es t\u00e9cnicas: aquecimento cont\u00ednuo e regulado.<\/p>\n\n

Aquecimento cont\u00ednuo<\/h2>\n

Uma chave de fluxo baseada no princ\u00edpio de medi\u00e7\u00e3o calorim\u00e9trica consiste em uma sonda de medi\u00e7\u00e3o com dois sensores de temperatura integrados (veja ilustra\u00e7\u00e3o). Um dos sensores \u00e9 aquecido continuamente com a ajuda de um elemento de aquecimento integrado (wire-wound) com uma pot\u00eancia de aquecimento constante e medi\u00e7\u00e3o da temperatura no elemento de aquecimento. O segundo sensor determina a temperatura do fluido na tubula\u00e7\u00e3o. Consequentemente, existe uma diferen\u00e7a de temperatura entre os dois sensores, que \u00e9 registrada pela eletr\u00f4nica do sensor. Quanto maior \u00e9 velocidade do fluxo do meio da tubula\u00e7\u00e3o, menor \u00e9 a diferen\u00e7a de temperatura. O princ\u00edpio de medi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 o efeito de resfriamento do fluxo. As mol\u00e9culas no meio, que passam pela ponta da sonda, coletam “pacotes de calor” e os transportam para fora. Quanto mais mol\u00e9culas passam, maior o efeito de resfriamento. O n\u00famero de mol\u00e9culas aumenta continuamente com o aumento da velocidade de fluxo.<\/p>\n

Aquecimento regulado<\/h2>\n

Na concep\u00e7\u00e3o a sonda de medi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 basicamente id\u00eantica: existem dois sensores de temperatura no qual um pode ser aquecido. Nesta solu\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9cnica, o poder calor\u00edfico \u00e9 regulado de modo que a diferen\u00e7a de temperatura entre os dois sensores de temperatura \u00e9 mantida constante. Consequentemente, \u00e0 medida que a velocidade do fluxo aumenta, o poder calor\u00edfico deve necessariamente aumentar de modo a manter constante a diferen\u00e7a de temperatura. A pot\u00eancia do poder calor\u00edfico aplicado \u00e9 desta forma uma medida direta da velocidade de fluxo no meio.<\/p>\n
