O IO-Link \u00e9 uma conex\u00e3o ponto-a-ponto (ou seja, n\u00e3o \u00e9 um novo field bus) entre o sensor\/atuador e um mestre field bus, como um CLP, por exemplo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o do dispositivo de campo (pino 1 e pino 3) e da transmiss\u00e3o do sinal (pino 4) acontece atrav\u00e9s do uso de uma linha de conex\u00e3o de 3 condutores, que \u00e9 t\u00edpica e padronizada no campo. A transmiss\u00e3o de sinal ocorre inicialmente de forma convencional, isto \u00e9, sem o IO-Link, no chamado modo SIO (Standard IO).
