The peer-nominated award is presented monthly to employees who go above and beyond in their roles, all while upholding WIKA\u2019s commitment to integrity, customer satisfaction, partnership, safety, continuous improvement, social responsibility, and excellence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Established when WIKA was founded in 1946, corporate core values are the standards by which WIKA measures itself and its employees. Thanks to employees\u2019 commitment to these values, WIKA has become a worldwide leader in industrial measurement technology. The company would not be where it is today without this dedication from within.<\/p>\n<p>Employees who do more than expected are vital to WIKA\u2019s overall mission of helping customers succeed through superior instrumentation solutions. This is why WIKA USA began the monthly Core Value Award program almost 20 years ago \u2013 to acknowledge employees for their hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n<h2>Corporate Core Values are Key to Success<\/h2>\n<p>A peer-nominated program, Core Value Awards give employees a special way to thank their colleagues for doing extraordinary work. Recipients are recognized for making a positive impact on WIKA USA\u2019s continued success. Each nominee is chosen for exemplifying one of seven corporate core values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Integrity:\u00a0<\/strong>Promoting ethical business practices<\/li>\n<li><strong>Customer Satisfaction:\u00a0<\/strong>Creating positive customer experiences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Partnership:\u00a0<\/strong>Encouraging collaboration in the workplace<\/li>\n<li><strong>Safety:\u00a0<\/strong>Maintaining a safe work environment<\/li>\n<li><strong>Continuous Improvement:\u00a0<\/strong>Improving WIKA policies and processes<\/li>\n<li><strong>Social Responsibility:\u00a0<\/strong>Improving the community and the world at large<\/li>\n<li><strong>Excellence:\u00a0<\/strong>Exceeding expectations in work that directly impacts company success<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each month a committee composed of senior managers chooses the winners, who receive a plaque, monetary award, and a designated parking spot at the main WIKA USA campus in Lawrenceville, Georgia.<\/p>\n<h2>September 2018 Award Winners<\/h2>\n<p>The following WIKA USA employees were chosen for exemplifying a corporate core value.<\/p>\n<p><em>Photo above,\u00a0<\/em><em>from left: Christian Foertig, Erich Berninger, Arju Akter (winner), and Andrew Ketchum <\/em><\/p>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2018\/10\/randall-litton_resized-388x218.jpg\" alt=\"Corporate core values\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">From left: Andrew Ketchum, Randall Litton (winner) &amp; two other members of the Direct Drive Team, Erich Berninger, and Christian Foertig<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p><strong>Arju Akter and Randall Litton, MG1 (pressure transmitter for medical gases) cell \u00a0| \u00a0<strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Recognized for Excellence<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Management asked Litton and Akter to \u201cgo above and beyond to complete a difficult order in a very short time frame to satisfy a customer,\u201d said nominator Andrew Ketchum. \u201cThey volunteered to stay 12 hours on a Friday and 11 hours on a Saturday to see this job through. They came to this cell with very little training, and worked together to learn their products. They have brought ideas and updates for work instructions to our attention to help their line move forward.\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2018\/10\/andrew-peterson_resized-388x218.jpg\" alt=\"Corporate core values\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">From left: Andrew Peterson (winner), Harry Booth<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p><strong>Andrew Peterson, Design Engineer \u00a0| \u00a0<\/strong><strong>Recognized for Excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since January 2015, Peterson has worked on designs for differential pressure gauges for a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/products\/level-products\/wikas-value-innovation-workshop-helps-equipment-manufacturer-solve-difficulty-level-measurement\/\">major equipment manufacturer after it participated in a Value Innovation Workshop<\/a>. WIKA saw some immediate sales, but we have now passed the $1 million mark with this client \u2014 and over $500,000 year to date. \u201cAndrew was relentlessly patient in design, test, and design again. His presence with the customer through this project has been consistently positive and supportive,\u201d said nominator Harry Booth. \u201cI want to thank him for his excellent design work and patient commitment to the customer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2018\/10\/cotoyya-williamson_resized-388x218.jpg\" alt=\"Corporate core values\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">From left: Karen Florence, Cotoyya Williamson (winner), Christy Motes, and Nancy Cox-Lupori<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p><strong>Cotoyya Williamson, Accounts Payable Processor \u00a0| <\/strong><strong>Recognized for Partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Williamson was instrumental in the success of the finance team during a period of major changes, including a restructuring of the staff. Her nominator, Christy Motes, writes, \u201cEarlier this summer, we had many challenges in our department that were met due to Cotoyya\u2019s leadership, attention to detail, and follow-through. As our most seasoned accounts payable (AP) processor, she was able to lead and support her teammates. In addition to spending time training others, she also maintained her full workload. Even when the pressures and stress were high, she shared a ready smile, kept her cool, and was a real boost to the morale and performance of the team. If a mistake was made, she was willing and ready to help fix it. She met the challenge of becoming the point person for a wide array of AP questions and issues. Cotoyya is a great asset to our AP team and our overall finance team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peer recognition is an outstanding achievement, and every winner and nominee deserves a round of applause for their contributions.
