To that end, the temperature measurement specialists at WIKA continually look for ways to improve the performance of our thermocouple assemblies. Our latest product is the Tefracto-Pad<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wika.com\/en-us\/tc59_t.WIKA\" rel=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">model TC59-T<\/a>), which offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=skDcbLcocMk&amp;list=PLCpcl-nFgYcqkg4vSMpQsYKA3-va9I0jj&amp;index=3\" rel=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">level of accuracy<\/a> not seen in comparable tubeskin sensors.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Validating the Accuracy of WIKA\u2019s Tefracto-Pad<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Tubeskin Thermocouple<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2022\/02\/tc59-t-accuracy_fig-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2022\/02\/tc59-t-accuracy_fig-1-388x283.png\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figure 1 (click to enlarge)<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/products\/pressure-products\/extensive-pressure-sensor-testing-is-how-wika-stands-behind-quality-claims\/\">WIKA is serious about testing our measuring instruments<\/a>. That is how we can stand behind the claim of our temperature sensors\u2019 accuracy. At our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/products\/temperature-products\/wikas-testing-center-simulates-process-conditions-for-greater-safety-and-profitability\/\">Houston R&amp;D center<\/a>, we subjected an array of sensors to varying operating conditions. The data show that only the Tefracto-Pad<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> remains steady in the presence of high heat fluxes.<\/p>\n<p>For our tests, all the samples were new thermocouples common in the industry. We then exposed them to multiple iterations of operating conditions, including a variety of heat fluxes, to verify repeatability. This rigorous testing process showed that every sample deviated from actual temperature by at least \u00b110\u00b0F (Figure 1). The more severe the heat flux, the greater the temperature deviation.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">These tests replicate the conditions of Start of Run (SOR) to End of Run (EOR), or from an easy furnace to a more difficult furnace.<\/span><\/p>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2022\/02\/tc59-t-accuracy_fig-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.wika.com\/us\/\/files\/2022\/02\/tc59-t-accuracy_fig-2-388x283.png\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figure 2 (click to enlarge)<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p>But when the Tefracto-Pad<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> (Figure 2, data points in green) was exposed to the same conditions, it stayed the closest to the actual temperature \u2013 deviating by only a few degrees, if at all.
