Calibration in Mexico

After moving into new business premises back in 2018 and launching Axapta in 2019, WIKA Mexico is taking a further step this year: The calibration laboratory for pressure is being commissioned in accordance with Mexican standard NMX-EC-17025-IMNC-2018/ ISO/IEC 17025 (2017).

A new member of staff was recruited last August to handle the certification process and operation of the laboratory. This April, WIKA Mexico was accredited by the Mexican certification company EMA. During the preparatory phase, typical tasks were processed, including a laboratory ring comparison and internal audits. The first accreditation audit was completed without any issues being raised.

The range of services includes the calibration of process pressure gauges, and of simple reference devices. Calibration services that were previously outsourced are now provided in-house. This speeds up that service for customers, and WIKA is winning more orders. In the next step, the range of calibration services is to be extended to include higher-end pressure calibrations, and temperature will be introduced in the laboratory as a new measurand.
