Katja Hinz, an engineer who has worked for WIKA in Germany and Canada, is a force in leading the global company’s IIoT Solutions division. Get to know Katja, her multinational work history, and her important role as general manager of WIKA’s Colorado-based subsidiary for wireless sensing.
A builder and maker at heart, Katja Hinz is happiest when she is doing something with her hands and solving thorny problems, especially if engineering is involved. A few years ago, WIKA asked her to tackle her latest challenge: build up Phase IV Engineering, the subsidiary that WIKA fully acquired in 2023, to become a leading provider of wireless sensing systems.
She accepted the assignment, moved from Edmonton to Boulder, and is today immersed in preparing Leap Sensors® for their global launch. This system is a key component in WIKA’s leadership in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Solutions, a technology Katja believes in and is very excited about.
