WIKA India supports the construction a new school building in the village of Kesnand near the site of the subsidiary in Pune. The project enables the Zilla Parishad Primary School to significantly expand its premises. The building creates space for an additional 200 pupils, opening up improved educational prospects and future opportunities for them.
WIKA has been committed to projects in Kesnand for the last 25 years. This assistance focuses on primary school education to help children from lower financial backgrounds and to promote education within the community.
Five fully equipped classrooms in the new school building
Classes at Zilla Parishad Primary School will have to continue in two shifts until the new school building is completed. Thanks to the WIKA initiative, the school is provided with five fully equipped classrooms. They solve the problem of limited space and also increase the school’s capacity.
Members of the WIKA Group’s board of directors and the management of WIKA India attended the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone (the photo shows CEO Alexander Wiegand during the ceremony). They expressed their full personal conviction about this project and also praised the continuous support received from the local community. This partnership between WIKA and the village community demonstrates how companies can collaborate with local interest groups to drive forward meaningful and sustainable change.
