By cutting the ribbon, the new factory was officially opened.

WIKA has put into operation a new factory in Kazakhstan. The factory is located in Atyrau at the Caspian Sea. It took the team responsible for the location only six months from the planning to the start of production – in other words: one of the shortest project durations for such an endeavour in WIKA’s history.

Employees at the new factory in Kazakhstan give the guests of the inauguration ceremony a guided tour of the site.

After the official inauguration of the new factory in Kazakhstan, the guests had the opportunity to go on a factory tour.

Andreas Keiger, Executive Vice President Sales EMEAI and member of the Board of Directors, Enver Shulgin, Senior Vice President CIS Region, Matthias Kirch, Vice President PI Pressure, employees as well as about a hundred customers, business partners and representatives of local authorities took part in the opening ceremony.

After the official opening and tour of the factory, the hosts and guests went to the Atyrau Oil and Gas University for a professional exchange. Following numerous greetings, the WIKA management presented the company’s global and regional strategy as well as its offer of products and services. In a restaurant, the evening came to an end with an impressive programme by artists and inspiring conversations.

The new factory in Kazakhstan is intended to meet growing demand in Central Asia

The primary objective of the new location is to meet the growing demand in Central Asian nations such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and Azerbaijan. “With the factory, we will enhance our export capabilities and reinforce the collaboration with local suppliers and manufacturers”, Andreas Keiger emphasised during the inauguration ceremony. “Our factory will set the standard for the local production of measuring instruments.”

The inauguration programme also included a demonstration of Kazakh dances.

The inauguration ceremony was accompanied by cultural performances.

Additionally, WIKA will closely work together with the Oil and Gas University to combine theoretical knowledge with practical education. “Students will learn about real production processes and best practices in metrology”, said Enver Shulin, explaining the concept. “They will get to see the working environment in an international company. We offer promising career prospects.”

In the future, WIKA will produce pressure gauges, diaphragm seals and electronic temperature measuring instruments at the new factory in Kazakhstan. All measuring instruments will, in future, be tested and verified in a high-end calibration laboratory to meet the highest customer requirements. In Central Asia, the main segments served will be the oil and gas, energy, chemical, petrochemical and mining industries. The production in Kazakhstan is set to be expanded in the coming years.
