Combining German engineering and Chinese dynamism, the WIKA Group has built a strong production and service network in China over the past decades. From Suzhou to Shanghai, WIKA China now covers the complete range of modern measurement and control technology.
When WIKA opened its first factory in Suzhou in 1997, it was still surrounded by farmland. However, the 2,500-year-old city offered unique advantages. Due to its proximity to Shanghai, it was a pioneer in China’s early economic development and attracted numerous international companies. Renowned for its German engineering expertise, WIKA was one of the first companies to establish itself in the new district, laying the foundation for its joint growth journey with China.

For WIKA China, localisation means more than on-site production; it encompasses being deeply rooted in the country. In 1997, production in Suzhou began with mechanical pressure and temperature measuring instruments. Over the following decade it was expanded to include innovative production lines for electronic temperature measuring instruments, diaphragm seals and SF6 density measuring instruments. In 2013, WIKA China integrated the local organisation of KSR KUEBLER, WIKA’s subsidiary for level measurement technology. Later on, production lines for force and electronic pressure measuring instruments were added to the portfolio.
„Local for local“
In order to better serve the dynamic market, a new local research and development centre was set up in 2024. Today, Suzhou is the heart of a sales network and production centre with eight branches. WIKA products can be found in all 34 Chinese provinces – from offshore platforms in the south and refineries in the northeast to power plants located more than 4,000 kilometres away from Suzhou in the northwest. The “local for local” pledge is put into practice here every day.

New plant Suzhou II
The new plant in Suzhou was inaugurated in June 2026.
In 2026, WIKA China continued to grow, and a new plant in Suzhou was officially opened on 8 June. Covering more than 20,000 square metres, the facility manufactures a wide range of key products – including UHP pressure gauges, flow measurement technology and instruments for SF6 gas monitoring. The opening of Suzhou II is an important step towards further, targeted growth in China and Asia. With this new site, the subsidiary has not only significantly increased its production capacity, but also expanded its research and development capacity.

With over 25 years of history, steady growth and continuous technological development, WIKA China has become a competence centre for industrial measurement technology in Asia – and is ready to actively shape the next steps towards the future.
